Colorado Humane Reptile Society (Cohrs http://www.corhs.org/) is a great organization for locating adoptable reptiles. People know you can adopt cats and dogs. Consider adopting a reptile for the same reasons: they are in a shelter, in need of a permenent home, it discourages the continued over population of pet store sales, and it's the right thing to do.
Here's Wyatt, my adoptee from Cohrs:

Open Hand Designs creates jobs and opportunities for individuals and families to help break the cycle of poverty and help combat discrimination in India. Here's a little of what they say about their goals:
"This is our fair trade...a fair wage, a safe and clean working environment, a valuing of cultural identity, and a desire to care for and empower the poorest of the poor."
"We are committed as a company to helping fight human trafficking locally and nationally, and in doing so are giving back 10% of our sales to this cause. Once such group we partner with is Not For Sale Campaign, a group whose focus is to work at the grass roots level to empower everyday people to recognize and help stop human trafficking."
Please visit their webstore the next time you are interested in unique gifts. You'll be giving much more than what you purchase.

I've had the opportunity to attend the last Henna Conference in Las Vegas, and to host the first Henna Retreat in Colorado. Here are links to albums from both:

Xeloda is a medication used to combat the effects of some cancer treatments. Unfortunately it has side effects of its own, one of which is  Hand-foot syndrome (HFS). Through the use of henna, which is acts as an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic, they can reduce or eliminate the effects of HFS. To find out more, please visit this site and look around. You can read the information posted here by a woman battling cancer who is using henna. On the right side of her site you will find links to other related information.
I wish her the best in her battle.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Colorado Springs is Silver Pond on Academy. The food is always great, the service is great, I have never had to wait to get in and the owner takes a personal interest in the customers. If you like chinese, you'll love Silver Pond!
